Supporting Missouri's Startup Ecosystem

Right now, all across Missouri, everyday people are building some of the most creative businesses you’ll ever see. Building a business is hard. If we can move the needle for them, if we can help them survive the hardest moments, we get to see the payoff on the back end as those high-tech, high-growth startups gain traction. That’s a success flywheel Missouri can be proud of and sorely needs.

In my first two months leading MTC, we put capital behind that belief with more than $2 million approved for the physical infrastructure these companies rely on to grow in their local areas. Then, we committed several million more directly to founders through our IDEA Fund. It’s a runway for people who are building the next EquipmentShare, PayIt, Cerner, or any other inspiring Missouri-led company.

It’s a dream driving across Missouri, over endless miles, to do the mission of MTC. What I’m seeing out there is what we’ve come to expect from Missourians: hard work, ingenuity, resourcefulness, care, service, and so much more.

Yet now is the time for innovation. It’s happening at breakneck speed, and Missouri must be a part of it.

The feds see it too, in just the last few weeks, they have sent hundreds of millions of dollars to our partners across the state in grant funding. Missouri. Is. On. The. Map. We are being targeted for major investment in technology, defense, critical minerals, biotech, infrastructure, manufacturing, agtech and beyond.

I didn’t take this job to admire the view from the road. I took it to serve the people building our dynamic economy. If MTC can help you, your company, or someone you know, I want to hear from you.
